How to Use Google Docs for Collaboration

There are many reasons to use Google Docs for student collaborative projects. Some are: Any group member can work on the same project from any computer. Even at the same time as someone else. Google will automatically save a student’s work. Students do not have to bring anything to class the day it is due. They can never lose it. Either it’s complete or it isn’t. A group member does not have to wait on another member to finish their part unless one part is required for the other. It is compatible with Microsoft Power Point and Word. Files can be imported or exported.


Steps.


1. Establish an email address. Go to www.google.com and click on the “Gmail” tab at the top. If you already have an email account, such as Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, AOL etc., skip to 6.


2. Click on “create an account”. It is on the right toward the bottom.


3. Fill in the required information. Leave the recovery e-mail blank. Click “I accept. Create my account” at the bottom.


4. Click “Show me my account”, then click “Just go to my inbox”.


5. Minimize your screen and open a new internet browser window or tab.


6. Go to www.google.com and click on “more” at the top and choose “documents” from the drop down list.


7. Click “create an account” at the bottom left.


8. Fill in the required information and click on the “I accept. Create my account” at the bottom.


9. Google wants to know that you are a real person with a real email address so go to your email account (the one you used to create your account) and there will be an email from Google. Open it and follow the instructions. You have now verified your new account.


10. Choose one person to start the project. We could call that person the Project Initiator.


11. The Project Initiator needs to click on “Create New” at the top left and choose “Presentation” from the drop down list. Put your name or project title in the title box. Click on the “share” button on the top right and choose “invite people”. In the Invite box, add the e-mail addresses of your project members and your teacher’s if he/she requires it. Then click “send”.


12. Now, all the other people in the group need to go to their e-mail account and open it. There will be an e-mail from the Project Initiator, open it and click on the link in the email.


13. Everyone in your group now has access to the project. If one person makes a change, it will show up on all the other group member’s presentation.

Shooting took place from May to November 2008.

Despite mostly negative reviews from film critics, it was a box office success, surpassing the all-time earnings of its predecessor in a month; its opening day, with $62 million in North America and close to $100 million worldwide, is the second highest Wednesday opening gross in history, and the fourth-highest single day gross of all time. With a total of $402 million in North America and $836 million worldwide, it was the second most successful film of 2009 (behind Avatar) and eleventh overall domestically, and the 23rd highest-grossing film of all timeand fourth highest of the year (behind Avatar, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs) internationally.

How to Get Cheap Clicks on Google

Lots of people use Google Adwords to market their business... But many are doing it dead wrong. Here are the steps to getting cheap clicks on Google PPC.

Steps.

1. Create Adgroups that have very small Keyword lists that are Laser Specific to the actual ad that you will be running.For Example, if you wanted to do a product specific campaign with something random as the Adgroup then it might look something like this:

2. Start running these ads with a high bid price. For somethingrandom it would be up close to $2 per click. This will put you in the top 3 for search results.

3. Watch your CTR (click through rate) closely once you start advertising. You should have a click through rate up around 8% or so. Now, start slowly decreasing your bid amount. You can drop it down by increments of 10-20 cents at first, until you get down close to $1 per click. Once you are at that level then start decreasing it slowly by 5 cents per click until you get down to about 75 cents a click and then start taking it down in increments of 2-3 cents per click.

4. Keep a close eye on your ad position while you are decreasing your bid amount. It should stay close to the top 5 each time. If it drops dramatically then you went down too fast.

How to Join Google Groups

Joining Google Groups may seem quite complicated but it's really quite easy.


Steps.


1. Create a Google Account. Google accounts are completely free, and you don't have to enter any credit card info. If you already have one, then just sign in.


2. Get yourself to the Google Groups home page. You can just type "Google Groups" into Google Search to get there.


3. Click on "Browse Group Categories..." to let you see all the group categories.


4. Choose your language. After you press "Browse Group Categories" you should see lots of columns. Find your language and click on it.


5. Select any topic that appeals to you. This will determine the topic of the group you will join.


6. Pick your region, if you desire a group in the country you live in. You can narrow it down as far as to choosing your state, if you want.


7. Continue to narrow down topics. You will eventually get to a listing of groups. Click on the group name that appeals to you.


8. Click on "Join This Group" if it seems to appeal to you.


9. Pick a name that you want to be known as in this group. Then, press "Join Group" and wait to see if you get in.

How to Link on Google Sites

Linking (or hyperlinking) is a good way to direct link into a page on a Google Site or a website address. But, maybe, it can be confusing at first. Here's how to leave the confusion behind and get it right!


Steps.


1. Click on "Edit Page" in top right corner.


2. Now, click on "Link" on top of the page you are editing.


3. Now, you have two choices

• In the existing page, you can click on a page to direct link a another page on your google site.
  
• Or, on the Web Address, you can link to a another website (or sometimes, it is a alternative existing page), like wikipedia.org.

4. Now type the address in the bar, if you chose a web address. But on an existing page, you will have to click on a page on your google site.


5. Click OK.


6. Click on the link that you just typed.


7. Check if it works. If it does, you have a direct link to the page.

How to Spellcheck With the Google Toolbar

Some people need to spellcheck an article on wikiHow or on another page on the Internet. If you have the Google Toolbar, you've got a light-weight spellchecker!


Steps.


1. Look at your Google toolbar and a few buttons to the right there is a button that has a green check with small letters above it that say "ABC" and the word "check" is written next to it.


2. Click that button and if there is not a blue screen on a place you are allowed to type there should be a reminder that should say "No spelling errors have been Identified!".


3. If there is a blue screen there should be at least 1 word misspelled to correct it just click on it and there are a few suggestions below in the gray or white box click on the word that you want the word to be changed to and it will show.


4. If the word has no suggestions or you do not want to change the misspelled word into any suggestions just simply add it to the dictionary.
